About Us

On The Rise Baking, located in the charming West Side of Worcester Massachusetts, is the premier family owned and operated bakery for your wedding and special occasion cakes and pastries. On The Rise specializes in alluring traditional and unique custom cakes for those with even the most discerning palette.

Pastry chef and owner Elizabeth Casey’s extensive experience goes back to her undergraduate degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. Upon graduation, she began a two and a half year apprenticeship with a master German pastry chef in a four star resort in Southern California. She followed this by spending a year and a half with a master French pastry chef at a four star restaurant in Northern California and finished with a year in a bakery in Switzerland before returning to Worcester. This is when On The Rise was born over twenty years ago, to cater to brides in the area that Casey has always called home. In 2006, she decided to open a café and storefront shop in Tatnuck Square to share her expanded menu and freshly made delicacies with the broader Worcester community. On The Rise continues to serve brides in the Greater Metro-West area, and partners with a wide variety of venues, such as the exquisite Harrington Farms, to make the wedding planning process as simple and enjoyable as possible.

In our cafe, we provide the city’s go-to scrumptious, freshly baked gluten-free breakfast pastries and desserts that have made us famous. We do our best to provide new, flavorful options for our friends who are gluten-free on a daily basis. Many of our delectable gluten-free options are enjoyed by all our customers, including our supremely popular, triple chocolate mousse cake with three rich layers of dark, milk, and white chocolate, great for any occasion! Virtually all of our menu items can be modified to accommodate those with specific dietary restrictions or preferences such as gluten-, egg-, or dairy-free.

On The Rise also carries a variety of French-style savory and sweet tarts and tortes, unique and mouth-watering desserts by-the-slice, warm gooey chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies, freshly made breakfast pastries that fill our shop with delightful aromas each morning, brunch items such as our heavenly quiche and paninis, as well as our assorted bars and brownies that are sure to leave you wanting more. Using only the finest, premium ingredients, and locally sourced fruits and dairy, such as Cooper’s Milk, On The Rise is sure to provide you with exceptional quality desserts for all of life’s sweet occasions.
